that mera costume for aquaman may be one of my favorite comic-to-movie adaptation costumes. that’s right up there with katana from suicide squad and jubilee from age of apocalypse.

it’s just straight up what mera wears in the comics. it even has those iridescent glitter scale/sequins that they describe in the comics. right on.

Hiromu Takahashi’s Guide to Best of the Super Juniors

a rough translation from Tess (his hand writing isn’t great):

Jushin Thunder Liger: [something like ‘he’s nice and so he’s not as strong but he’s amazing/very skilled’]

Tiger Mask: Tiger! *growling sounds*

Taguchi: technical; [and then a few words smashed together:] old man butt pervert!

KUSHIDA: The Invisible Man [but like as a reference to a sci-fi movie]

ricochet: cat.

will ospreay: probably cat.

Taka Michinoku: bad technique. [and then something “The Dream” but spelled phonetically]

Taichi: [she can only make out “soon” and “pain”]

Page 6: [generic greeting for when you don’t know someone “nice to meet you”]

Marty: Umbrella man.

ACH: [something about the sole of your foot/shoe? unclear]

Volador Jr.: [phonetically spelling “jumping” something]

Dragon Lee: LOVE. [obviously]

BUSHI: [from left to right, top to bottom] wow amazing/you’re so cool; strong; phonetically spelling “clever”; phonetically spelling “fashionable”

I want to start watching NJPW! Any suggestions? How do their shows work?? Help please :)

i would say start with 2015-onward to catch up on a lot of the modern stuff going on. and once you’re caught up on 2015-2017 i’d say you can start jumping back, but be careful not to overwhelm yourself.

as for how their shows work, it’s not a weekly product like wwe so it shouldn’t be too hard to get caught up. a lot of their shows are ‘road to’ events which are smaller events that build up to their special events, they also have a lot of tournament content. right now they’re undergoing the battle of the super juniors round robin tournament tour, and next up after that is the dominion tour.
